Why do you CrossFit?
I because it has been a great way to deal with everyday stress, keep my body healthy, and build my confidence.
What makes you a great coach?
I feel that what makes me a great coach is my passion for helping others reach their fitness goals. I find myself caring, listening, and pushing clients to help them reach whatever goal they have.
Why motivates you as a coach?
The thing that most motivates me as a coach is when clients get their “firsts.” If it’s the first handstand, first push up, or even the first time getting out of a chair: those moments make coaching worth the time and effort.
What is your favorite coaching moment?
My favorite moment as a coach is when clients get that “light bulb” moment when I’m coaching. The “light bulb” moment happens when clients are able to adjust their form to functionally move better.
Why did you become a coach?
I became a coach to make an impact on a person’s health but also make a difference in the way they live their life outside of food and exercise. For example, the confidence built during workouts tends to transfer over into other areas of our lives whether it be in a professional or personal capacity.
What keeps your coaching passion fueled?
My passion in coaching is fueled by the need for a change in lifestyle in our society. My hope is that I can show people that the road, although challenging, will lead to a longer life.
What’s your favorite thing to coach?
My favorite movement to coach in is the Power Clean.
Proudest moment as an athlete?
I recently had a Teen that I had been coaching leave to go to one of the branches of the Military. When she first started she could hardly do any of the movements. On her last day being a part of my class, she got her first handstand push up. This was a very proud moment because I remembered all her “firsts” that she had experienced and the joy in her face as she experienced those “firsts” times doing those movements.
Favorite hobby outside of the gym?
I love to play basketball!
Favorite cheat meal?
I don’t cheat! But if I was going to cheat it would have to be cheesecake from the Cheese Cake Factory… lol!
Favorite workout song?
Anything with a phat beat!
